The Microsoft Surface- The potential iPad Killer finally Surfaces

Microsoft has finally unveiled its own tablet, the Microsoft Surface . Now lets see why this tablet stands out from the rest.
I just couldn't get enough out of this video........It looks great!!!

Well first of all, there will be 2 versions of the Surface out in the market , one running Windows 8 Pro and the other running Windows RT. The Surface RT will feature an ARM processor and the Surface Pro will have an Intel processor.

Now lets talk about the specs:

The Surface RT model weighs 676g, is 9.3mm thin and comes with what Microsoft calls a 10.6", 16:9 ClearType HD display. The battery's  31.5W-h , you can choose between 32GB and 64GB of on-board storage, and connectors include MicroSD, USB 2.0, Micro HD Video and 2x2 MIMO antennae for better WiFi performance. The processor is an ARM dual-core.
The Surface Pro model is heavier - 930g - and thicker - 13.5mm - to make room for an Intel Ivy Bridge i5 processor(yes, you read that right). This time the ClearType display is "Full HD", which implies 1920x1080 resolution. The battery's bigger too, at 42W-h, and the connectors include MicroSDXC, USB 3.0, Mini DisplayPort and the same antennae. Storage options for the  Surface Pro are 64GB and 128GB.

Both Surfaces come with a kickstand at the back which make your multimedia viewing experience more enjoyable.

The RT model will run on Windows RT which is a bit like a  prototype version of Windows 8. It can run only the Metro Apps(which are optimized for Windows tablets).
But the Pro will be running on the official Windows 8 Professional!!! And it will be able to run heavy apps which you run on your regular PC.

Needless to say, both tablets will allow you to enjoy the new OS with the tile-like homescreen and user interface.

The Surface will have front and rear facing cameras,  dual microphones tuned for Skype, stereo speakers and their cases are made of VaporMg, a magnesium alloy that's very light and strong.

Over that, keyboard expansions will be available in a wide range of colors for a bit of personalization and to give it that Ultrabook sort of feel. You can purchase either touch or functional(button-like) keyboards. They also double up as colorful covers!!

The Surface looks like it's got some really good prospects in the tablet market, especially the Pro model. With everyone waiting for the release of Windows 8, it should sell like hot cakes, provided it's priced well(and that's the daunting part).

The Surface RT is said to release the same time as Windows 8 itself, which is in the autumn. The Pro model will follow approximately 90 days later, which would set it up for a Christmas launch. Looks like Santa's coming with a whole new bag of goodies this time(Courtesy: Microsoft). Merry Christmas!!
